APRIL 2015

Attorney Chester Jennings successfully defended against a stalking charge in Clayton County, Georgia.

Attorney Smith participated in a judicially hosted settlement conference where she represented a homeowner in a suit brought by a builder.† As a result of Attorney Smith's negotiation skills, the homeowner saved over $30,000.

Attorney Smith was invited for membership into The National Black Lawyers - Top 40 Under 40.†

MARCH 2015

CJ&S was selected as the Business of the Month by the East Point Main Street Association.†

Attorney Smith†prevailed†in a Fulton County bench trial regarding†construction defect claims, resulting in a money judgment against the builder.


Attorney Chester Jennings was elected to the Board of Directors for Chattahoochee Hills Charter School.

Attorney Smith was invited for membership into The National Black Lawyers - Top 100 in the areas of Litigation, Bankruptcy Law and Business Transactions.


CJ&S has relocated to East Point, Georgia.† We are now in the heart of the community in which we serve.

Attorney Smith successfully negotiated a defective construction dispute that was brewing for over two years.

CJ&S sponsored a community service event at Refuge of Deliverance for mothers and children housed at the facility.† With the help of community sponsors, CJ&S was able to feed over 80 families and provide entertainment.


Attorney Chester Jennings was successful before the Fulton County Personnel Board in arguing that a client was improperly terminated and was entitled to employment in his former position and back pay.

Attorney Smith was invited to speak to youth at Bunche Middle School regarding civics and law in the news.


Attorney Smith began a two-year term as a member of the Local School Council at Deerwood Academy in Atlanta, Georgia.

JULY 2014

Attorney Chester Jennings successfully argued the dismissal of a probation violation petition and all felony domestic violence charges against a wrongly accused client.

JUNE 2014

Attorney Smith was appointed to a five-year term on the Clients' Security Fund Board of Trustees for the State Bar of Georgia.† The purpose of the Clients' Security Fund is to promote public confidence in the administration of justice and the integrity of the legal profession by providing monetary relief to persons who suffer reimbursable losses as a result of the dishonest conduct of members of the State Bar of Georgia.

Attorney Chester Jennings handled multiple TPO hearings, which all resulted in favorable outcomes for her clients.


After a one-day contested TRO hearing, Attorney Smith obtained injunctive relief in favor of her client regarding a contract dispute.

Attorney Chester Jennings was able to successfully negotiate a finding of "no probable cause" for an educator whose teaching license was at stake.

A judge granted the extraordinary relief of vacating her own order dismissing a Chapter 13 bankruptcy case after hearing the arguments of Attorney Smith.


Chester Jennings & Smith, LLC successfully defended two motions to dismiss after being substituted as counsel in a personal injury case in Fulton County, Georgia.† Attorney Smith served as first chair.

Attorney Chester Jennings obtained a dismissal of all pending criminal charges in DeKalb County State Court after†her motion to suppress was granted.

Attorney Smith was retained as primary bankruptcy counsel in a Chapter 11 case pending in the Northern District of Georgia.  Immediately upon retention, Attorney Smith successfully defended a motion to dismiss filed by the United States Trustee.

Chester Jennings & Smith, LLC reached a confidential settlement in a personal injury case shortly after filing a lawsuit in DeKalb County, Georgia.†

Attorney Smith was appointed as the Vice-Coordinator for the Membership Team for the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division.

Attorney Smith was selected as a member of the Board of Directors for the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division.

Chester Jennings & Smith, LLC successfully represented the interest of a father in a contempt action in Fulton County, Georgia.† After trial, Chester Jennings & Smith, LLC also won an award of attorneys' fees on behalf of its client.† Attorney LeRoya Chester Jennings served as lead counsel on the case.
